Main track | Portable display track | Other club tracks

Roedale has two racing tracks : our main, permanent track in our clubroom, and a portable display track.

Main track

Our permanent track has an 80 feet (24 metre) lap length. It is a quick and challenging track that, although short compared to some tracks, is very smooth and features large radius turns, including a very fast "loop" rising up to the start straight. Like most clubs, Roedale relies on the craftsmanship of club members to build and maintain its tracks. Details of how to build a slot car track can be obtained in a booklet published by Parma International and obtainable from Slot Car Distributors (SCD).

Portable display track

For more than 25 years, the club has owned a portable track that we have used to promote slot car racing. Well over one million people have seen our display of slot car racing, with more than 25000 people having actually raced on our portable track!

The portable track is fairly simple in design to make it easy to drive and has a lap length of 70 feet. Slot car racing had broad appeal across many age groups and, although great fun, can be a serious and competitive business. For this reason, we particularly welcome enquiries about hiring us to organise slot car racing at corporate functions. Slot car racing can provide a very entertaining attraction at these events. We display every year at the Brighton Model World Show and have been hired by many organisations including various major Car Dealers (Nissan, Ford and Vauxhall), our local Newspaper (the Argus), and even the Institute of Qualified Professional Secretaries! At these functions, the Club organises the racing and also arranges for the car bodyshells to be painted in the Company's colours together with the Company Logo.

Other club tracks

Virtually every Club has a different track layout and set-up. For details of the Club or Raceway nearest to your home location, go to the 'tracks' page on the British Slot Car Racing Association (BSCRA) website.
