30th Anniversary Exhibition

The Roedale Slot Car Club have been attending Modelworld since 1978 demonstrating our sport and providing the opportunity for the public to try slot racing first hand. During this time we estimate that over a million people have seen our sport, and in excess of 25,000 have driven the on the track itself.

Our latest portable track is designed to be fast and smooth and is intentionally easy to drive to allow newcomers the opportunity to enjoy a competitive race after a short practice session.

The first show in 1978, held in the newly built Brighton Centre and titled the Brighton Model Railway Show, ran for four full days over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend. At that time we didn't have our own portable track, but the old Reading Club did and it had been planned to hold an Area Round on their portable.

No suitable venue had been found for this, however, so we borrowed their track for the show and, on the Sunday, ran the only Area Round ever viewed by the general public.

Billed as 'A qualifying round for the British National Slot Racing Championships', it was an outstanding success in its own right and probably the only time the winner of an Area Round final has been cheered by a crowd of several hundred!

The Show itself has changed from being essentially just a model railway show to one of the biggest and best model and hobby shows in the UK and we hope to see you at this years Modelworld from Friday February 15th to Sunday February 17th.

Futher details are available on the Modelworld web site.
