F1 Championship Round 2
16 Members turned up on May Day for the 2nd Round of our F1 Championship, though with two younger members opting not to race F1.Qualifying was divided into a grade of straps and two very rough grades of assorted falcons and others!

Phil M maintained his dominance of F1 by comfortably taking TQ ahead of an on-form Phil H, and set a Red lane F1 Class best in the process. Ian B was (for a change) relegated to 3rd place ahead of Ian K's flying Falcon, but with very little separating the next 5 places. The track was quite grippy and racing overall was generally quick - both Malcolm and Chris C setting themselves personal F1 bests. As ever, there were retirements - this week from Ben, making a welcome return from his worldly travels, and Simon J - but conveniently leaving us with 12 drivers and 3 full Finals - 50 laps in F1 this year.

The 'C' Final saw a reasonably comfortable win for Roland ahead of a close race between an unusually slow Jody and Bill, with Terry bringing up the rear.

Once again, the 'B' Final produced some good racing with the first three on the same lap for most of the 50 laps and Chris C coming good to beat Graham H, only just ahead of Malcolm with Stuart  fading back in 4th.

Ian B got his revenge in the 'A' Final and managed to just beat Phil M to score the maximum bonus points, both were well in front of  another close thing between Phil H and
the Falcon of Ian K.

So, Phil M keeps up the pressure in F1 with another win!
