Saloon Championship Round 1
	A good turnout of 16 Members for the 1st Round of this year's Saloon Championship. It's all looking very healthy at the moment with these good numbers racing, two new Members signed up this week - welcome to Christine and Elliott, and another potential Junior looking to join. We might have one of the smallest clubrooms, but we do have the best Club in the Country! The Championship format is much the same in all classes this year - 4 qualifying runs followed by bonus point finals.As usual, qualifying was roughly graded into 3 groups with the aim of producing better quality racing by keeping those that go quicker away from those that don't - at least in the early stages! Once again, it was that man Ian B who dominated qualifying, but Jody did give him a run for his money with Phil H in 3rd.  Behind them, Ian K came back on form to just pip Chairman Bill and Malcolm.  Things were quite close in mid-field and, for different reasons, Stuart and Chris B both called it a night and disappeared early but still leaving enough for 4 Finals. The 'D' Final was a two person race between our only lady driver, Christine, and Stephen with Stephen overcoming earlier controller problems to comfortably win. In the 'C' Final, things ended up well spaced out with Roland eaily winning ahead of an improving Simon WT, followed by Chris M, -  and Terry pulled out while not having such a good night as he has had recently. The 'B' Final was the closest fought of  the evening with Malcolm coming good to win ahead of Simon J and Bill - less than half a lap seperating the three of them, and Chris C only another half lap behind. So the 'A' Final wrapped up the evening's Saloon Championship with a win for Ian B, who was again hard pressed by Jody but had a lap in hand at the finish.  Jody kept Phil H down in 3rd place and a fading Ian K followed them home. So Mr Barker continues to win!  What's happened to the rest of our 'A' grade drivers? Surely he can be beaten?
